Discover the Magic of Theater at the SFS Youth Performing Arts Academy
Calling all young performers! This year, the SFS Youth Performing Arts Academy is opening its stage for an exciting series of theater experiences designed to spark creativity, build confidence, and bring beloved stories to life. With three unique sessions taking place throughout the summer, there’s something for every budding star—from vocalists and actors to behind-the-scenes tech wizards.

Session 1: “Disney Dare to Dream, Jr.”
Dates: May 19–24 | Time: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Grades: 2nd – 12th
Step into the spotlight with an after-school deep dive into musical theater! Students will focus on vocal performance, character development, and stage presence. The week ends with a showcase performance of Disney Dare to Dream, Jr. on May 24 at 6:30 p.m.—a magical opportunity to shine on stage.

Session 2: “Tech Week with The Stephen Foster Story”
Dates: July 22–26 | Time: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Grades: 8th – 12th
Take a peek behind the curtain during this hands-on day camp! Participants will learn the ins and outs of theatrical production—lighting, sound, costumes, set changes, and stage management—while shadowing the iconic Stephen Foster Story during tech week. Camp wraps with a special Shadow Night on July 26 at 5:30 p.m.

Session 3: “Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids”
Dates: August 18–23 | Time: 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Grades: 2nd – 8th
Dive into acting fundamentals, storytelling, and stage movement in this after-school session. The week concludes with a joyful under-the-sea performance of Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids on August 23 at 6:30 p.m.
All sessions take place at the beautiful J. Dan Talbott Amphitheater in Bardstown, KY (411 E. Stephen Foster Ave). Each weeklong session costs $250 per camper, and space is limited—so don’t wait!
