Stephen Foster Drama Association raises $20,000 from Beautiful Dreamer Ball

Bardstown, Ky., Feb. 11, 2025 — The Stephen Foster Drama Association (SFDA) hosted its annual fundraiser last weekend, the Beautiful Dreamer Ball, an elegant evening of community, celebration, and support. Held in downtown Bardstown at Kreso’s Restaurant, the event drew a crowd that was eager to champion SFDA’s mission of delivering affordable, high-quality arts and entertainment rooted in local history and culture.  As a result, the event raised $20,000.

This year’s ball embraced the theme “Cruisin’,” offering an evening of style, speed, and luxury. Guests enjoyed a lineup of specialty cocktails, a dinner, trivia, auctions, and live music performances. The proceeds from the event will benefit SFDA’s upcoming season, supporting its efforts to continue providing enriching artistic experiences to the Bardstown community, regional audiences, and visitors from afar.

“The Beautiful Dreamer Ball has become a cherished tradition, and this year’s theme added an exciting twist,” said SFDA Executive Artistic Director Johnny Warren. “We are grateful to everyone who joined us in making the evening a success and for their ongoing support of the arts in our community.”

This annual fundraiser plays a vital role in ensuring the accessibility and sustainability of SFDA’s programming. The Stephen Foster Drama Association has been a cornerstone of the Bardstown arts scene, dedicated to showcasing performances that celebrate the region’s rich heritage through “The Stephen Foster Story” and bringing “Broadway to Bardstown” through its summer production of a Broadway musical. This year, SFDA will be producing Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” in addition to “The Stephen Foster Story.”
