The Louisville Orchestra (LO) concluded their July leg of the “In Harmony – The Commonwealth Tour” in Bardstown at The Stephen Foster Story on Sunday, July 14. The free concerts under the direction of LO Music Director Teddy Abrams featured the orchestra with special guest performers Jason Clayborn and Daria Raymore!
Attendees enjoyed orchestral arrangements from Dvořák, Leonard Bernstein, Teddy Abrams, and Louisville-native Tyler Taylor. Clayborn and Raymore brought the funk performing songs from James Brown, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin and more.
Ahead of the performance, LO Musicians met attendees and explored the arts through musical and educational collaborations in the community. Events took place at the Nelson County Public Library and the Mt. Washington Public Library.
The LO, under the visionary leadership of Abrams, advocated and secured funding to continue “In Harmony – The Commonwealth Tour” with significant $4.3 million funding allocation from the Kentucky State Legislature.
This landmark initiative, which began in 2022, has already made a profound impact, reaching over 27,000 Kentuckians across 38 counties through more than 125 events. This funding enables the orchestra to deepen community engagement and enrich the cultural fabric across urban and rural divides throughout the state.
