The Stephen Foster Drama Association is excited to announce that our 2027 Summer Broadway Musical will be Disney’s “Frozen.” The show, set to be performed in July and August, will take place at the J. Dan Talbott Amphitheatre in Bardstown, and tickets are available now. “Frozen” will be presented on Wednesday and Friday evenings from July 7 through Aug. 4 at 8 p.m.
Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, Disney’s “Frozen” includes all the film’s beloved songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, along with new music written exclusively for the stage.
In the beautiful mountainous kingdom of Arendelle, Princesses Anna and Elsa grow up sheltered inside their castle, isolated from the world and increasingly distant from each other. When Elsa is crowned queen, the magical powers she’s desperately tried to conceal from her sister take control, and she flees into the mountains. As a ferocious winter descends on Arendelle, Anna sets off on an epic journey to find Elsa and bring her home – with the help of hardworking ice harvester Kristoff, his loyal reindeer Sven and a happy-go-lucky snowman named Olaf.
Full of magic, humor and a stunning musical score, “Frozen” is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance and finding the real meaning of true love.
Running alongside performances of “The Stephen Foster Story,” we’re proud to continue our Summer Broadway Series after last year’s production of “Annie” and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “The Sound of Music” in 2025.
Auditions for the musical, along with “The Stephen Foster Story,” will take place in-person in Bardstown or via video submission. Video auditions are being accepted now, and in-person auditions are set to begin on Feb. 20 at Nelson County High School. Click here to learn more.
“Frozen” is presented with support from Salt River Electric, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving Bullitt, Nelson, Spencer and Washington counties since 1937. Additional support is provided by Physicians to Children & Adolescents, a local pediatric office that has been in the community for over 40 years, providing care from birth to adolescence to the children of Nelson County, Washington County and the surrounding areas.
Tickets for “Frozen” are available online by clicking here. Phone and box office sales will begin Spring 2027.
